Synopsis of Leaving (Short story written by M.G Vassanji)

 Synopsis   A woman raises 5 children by herself after the death of her husband. She focuses on the two younger ones, Aloo and the narrator.  She pins all her hopes that they will have a better education  Aloo is in his final year in school and wants to study medicine.  Mr Datoo, a former teacher inspires Aloo to think of furthering his education in America so he starts writing to american universities to get necessary information.  He is offered a place with a scholarship in the California Institute of Technology.
